Instrument workshop Lutheo

The workshop

A small instrument workshop with a single conviction: a play-ready instrument changes everything.

We started with a bench and the corner of a table, convinced that too many instruments reach the customer badly set up, hard to play and discouraging — when a few small adjustments are all it takes to make them sing.

How it started

Two musicians, tired of watching beginners give up on unplayable instruments, decided to sell only what they would set up for themselves. The rule has never changed: every instrument goes across the bench before it ships.

We work with a small network of makers and builders who share our standards. We play every model before we stock it, and we turn down anything that will not hold its tune.

The workshop today

Lowered action, set intonation, fresh strings, tuned: that is the minimum we do to every stringed instrument. Accessories are chosen to last, not to pad the catalogue.

Our range stays deliberately tight — six families, both mainstream instruments and rarer finds — so we can know everything and advise well.

What we stand for

Our values

01

Play-ready, for real

Every stringed instrument leaves set up and tuned. No “take it to a luthier first” — that part is already done.

02

Only what sounds right

We play everything before we sell it. If an instrument will not hold its tune or discourages, it does not join the catalogue.

03

Advice before the sale

The right first instrument beats an expensive one. We point you to what will actually get you playing.

The workshop

A playable instrument, not a box to unpack

01

Selection

We only stock instruments we would play ourselves — tested by ear and by hand, never just from a catalogue.

02

Bench setup

Lowered action, checked intonation, fresh strings: every string and key is adjusted before dispatch.

03

Tuned & played

Nothing leaves untuned and unplayed. If it does not sound right on the bench, it does not ship.

04

Packed with care

Protected for the journey and shipped within 48 hours, so the instrument arrives exactly as it left the workshop.
